Born in the East Zone of São Paulo, Cohab II, Yago Oproprio carries the DNA of peripheral musical influences. As a child he went to live with his mother in Caracas, Venezuela. There, he learnt Spanish and had contact with the music of Calle 13, Orishas, Don Omar. From there came the influences of the Latin sound, which imbue rhythm and uniqueness to his creations.

Back in Brazil, he settled in Cohab 1, Artur Alvim. In this territory he traces with the national funk and rap scene, Sabotage, Duda Marapé, Sombra and Racionais, while at the same time absorbing names like Chico Buarque, Moreira da Silva, Pedro Luís and da Silva, Pedro Luís e a Parede, among many others.

From this mixture of the street and peripheral art, an urban poetics is maturing that isn't confined to a single world. Yago Oproprio follows the paths of dialogue with people and cities, jumping from the favelas to the world, without abandoning his roots.
